Some things are too pure to be envied.

Envy imagines a world where colors compete — each hue jostling for attention, swirling in earth-toned, ethnic patterns drawn from the way our planet looks from space: oceans, deserts, forests, all restless with wanting. But at the center sits something the colors can never reach. Black and white — not colors at all — stand untouched, unbothered, whole. They have nothing to prove and nothing to protect.

This piece is about the quiet freedom of not competing. About the calm that comes when you stop measuring yourself against others' brightness. The colors churn with jealousy at the edges; the black-and-white heart simply is — swirling to its own rhythm, needing no one's permission to exist.

If the colors had never envied one another, maybe they'd have found this stillness too.
